While on my knees in the night, I intended to worship for a few minutes and continue preparing for my ministrations but as I closed my eyes; I saw an office.
I and my husband have been booking several appointments to see one high spiritual-profile personality in our town to no avail regarding the use of their mega hall for our Students’ conference. My husband had to make do with the receptionist for a time before he was opportune to see the Secretary.
For months we were seeing the secretary, following up with calls, booking other appointments which never culminated into a physical meeting.
On a particular day, we were fortunate to be told ‘he’s around’. Our joy knew no bounds. We packaged ourselves trying to get prepared to meet him which never happened! I was tired already.
I kept thinking that this man was just a door away from where we were seated, why can’t he just attend to us? I started making decisions of not having unnecessary long protocols around me when I also become a big minister.
I and my husband went home still hoping the meeting would certainly hold any time after. We are both unperturbed at all by the failed efforts. His secretary was so approachable and kindhearted but “He’s not the one we want to see”
As I was on my knees in the night, this event played out in my heart and I started singing:
I enter the Holy of Holies
I enter through the blood of the Lamb
I enter to worship You only
I enter to honor I am
Refrain:
Lord I worship You, I worship You,
Lord I worship You, I worship You,
For Your name is Holy, Holy Lord
For Your name is Holy, Holy Lord” Paul Wilbur
I was heavily immersed in the awesomeness of God’s presence. Suddenly I became appreciative of the privilege we have to walk into God’s presence without any protocol! No need to book an appointment to see Him. I don’t have to act nice to all the countless angels ministering to Him in His magnificent and glamorous palace. I need not write many letters before I can have a chat with Him. Glory!
You can just open your mouth now as you’re reading me and you’re talking to the real Almighty! Whoa. You can choose to either close your eyes or leave it open yet He’s right here with you. Glory!
You can just go on your knees or sit and He’s already attentive, very much interested in whatever you’ve got to say. Halleluyah!
He doesn’t travel at any time. He’s not going for lunch or in any executive directors meeting when we need Him by our side. He’s never too busy to welcome and receive us into His court.
What a privilege we have there. A direct entry into His presence. No gate, no security guard is mounted on the streets of gold as we approach God from time to time. We are granted to approach and kiss the face of God.
This direct access didn’t just happen like that. Jesus’ precious blood gave us the pass. The middle wall of partition between us and God was torn. No more seeing the Priest before we get to see God’s face. See Hebrews 8:1-6
The gate is open! You will be doing yourself no good if you don’t go in. Come into His presence. Hear the call into intimacy with the Lord of your soul. God’s gate is open to you; meet Him.
“Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” Hebrews 4:16
“To fall in love with God is the greatest romance; to seek him the greatest adventure; to find him, the greatest human achievement.” ~ Saint Augustine
“God’s presence is a position of face-to-face intimacy, fellowship, and favor.” Susanne Whitlock
